Puke on the field.

It is tempting to wait until you are ready and feeling right before you engage in your work.

I knew a football player once who told his high school coach that he couldn’t play because of a pounding migraine. He was starting to throw up because it was so bad. The coach, a classic hard-ass, told him to get out on the field and throw up there. No one gave a shit anyway.

That’s exactly what he did. He played. He puked. No one cared.

He played one of his best games of the season.

That’s what happens when you just get on with it.

Don’t wait until you’re feeling great. Don’t wait for it to be a good day. Just do it now and, if you puke on the field, play around it.

That’s how greatness happens.
